What is a wine appellation?
A protected name under which a wine may be sold, indicating that the grapes used are of a specific kind
from a specific district, such as Napa Valley (USA), Cotes du Rhone (France), Barolo (Spain).
These are just a few examples. Use the pull down menu under appellation to be able to select the
appellation you need based on the country of origin. (note: the appellation is usually written on the label.
Remember to look at the front and back of the label!)
What is a wine region?
A geographical designation of an area where wine grapes are grown, such as Central Valley, North Coast,
Burgundy, Tuscany.
What does wine style mean?
Generally, this refers to the wine being red, white, blush, sparkling or fortified.
By selecting from this list of choices, the field of wine variables related to style,
such as varietal, will be narrowed. The style designation simplifies the review process.
I can’t find the appellation on the wine label. Should I pick something that is close?
If you are not sure of the appellation you can select what you think is the appellation.
Remember to check the back label for the appellation as well as the front.

referred to as a wine evaluation.
Can I go back to change my review?

Review Results page. You can also delete the review and re-enter it.
How can I find my wine review?

the wines that you have reviewed to date, or you can click on the “Reviews” link on the “My Account” page

How is the wine evaluation or result generated? Where does the information come from?
The wine result is generated from two input areas. The wine rating and the wine review.
The wine rating is essentially a numerical evaluations of the wine,
while the wine review is the descriptive or qualitative experience of tasting the wine.
Wine results provide both your rating and the average rating of all ratings entered to date.
The rating by the group is an aggregated number,
while the wine review is only the summary of your review input.
